What are the three things that make up Casual College Prep? Green, Jean, & Boot.

First, lets talk about the Green for green pants. Whether a light pair of green pants or a dark pair of green pants, green pants are the way to go. Throughout college, I’ve been in pursuit of finding good substitutes for your standard blue jean that could be as casual and versatile. I’ve found that a pair of green pants is a perfect substitute for my on campus style. The extra pop of color adds just a little bit more to every day casual.

Staying true to Jean: I paired my green pants with a sleeveless jean top (a thrift store find!) underneath a thin tan and white sweater. Layering sweaters over jean collared tops is a trend I’ve noticed a few of my friends and kids on campus have picked up on. I’ve had friends layer thicker knit sweaters and add on statement necklaces to play up the paired collared and scooped neckline. The jean with the green (pants) is a nice contrast in color and material as well. Both pieces make each other stand out.

Barely-there Heeled Boots: I finished off my look with a pair of barely-there heeled boots. The University of Washington is a huge campus. So for shoe wear, I always look for a shoe that is comfortable to walk in, a shoe that can make it through the rain (and keep my feet dry), and a shoe that hopefully wont slip on the wet brick paths. These studded pair of tan boots were the boot to complete this look.
