Spring is all about redefining our favorite staple pieces: the Jean Vest, the Black Bootie, and the Spring Dress. These three elements are inspiring me to stay true to my casual chic style, while bringing together everyday, traditional pieces that you wouldn’t normally think of completing a spring look with.

The Jean Vest is timeless casual. Denim is the past, the present, and it will be the future. It’s the perfect piece to bring a balance of casual to the more dressier pieces in your look. From the light studded details, to the faded blue wash, I’m loving my jean vest.

The Spring Dress: Spring dresses are so fun to shop for, wear, and diversify your closet with. This dress is especially unique in my closet as its the only peter-pan collared dress in my wardrobe. It’s a simple black and white printed dress with a cinched waist. I can dress it up for a nice Sunday Family lunch after church, or dress it down with a jean vest to go to class in.

The Black Patent Bootie is a must have for spring. Spring booties is an emerging trend I’ve been seeing through Chictopia, Lookbook, and other bloggers sites. Normally, you’d pair your spring dresses with sandals and cute flats. But to challenge the norm, pair your dress with a black patent bootie. I’ve found that these black patent booties bring a little bit of an edge to my typical casual campus looks. The heel is just right to be comfortable in and they add some chicness with the slightly pointed toe feature too!

I finished the look with an oversized H&M tote and minimal accessories – with my gold seiko watch.
