Meet my friend Ribicca from Amro Menor!

Since I made 2016 a year of adventure, I’m making 2017 a year of
investment. My New Years Resolutions and focus of this year are on five main spaces of my
life:

1       Education

I have committed to being a
life-long learner. Whether I’m watching TED videos or reading new books, I take
pride in my commitment to learning. One of the major things on my bucket list
and one of my goals of 2017 is to decide what path to take for a graduate
degree. 2017 will be my third year out of college and I want to decide what my
next step in my education
is going to look like. I’ve contemplated going after
either an MBA or a Master’s in Communication& Digital Media. I don’t know
yet what I’m going to do, but I will decide this year what I will do and what
is going to be right for me.

      Relationships

I feel very fortunate to have an
incredible family, a sweet boyfriend, and network of friends. I want to continue to invest these
relationships in myself because I know I need their love and support –
especially as I decide what graduate degree is going to be right for me. I’m
going to invest in my relationships through more experiences – like traveling or eating with
my loved ones hehe.

3       Travel

I’m really feeling like I’m
going to be in school in 2018….so I need to live it up and travel in 2017
before I start a graduate program. I’ve never been to Europe before so I’m
hoping to visit Paris, London, Madrid, Barcelona, or Rome! I would also love to
see Iceland or Greece! In the US, I would love to visit Austin, Philadelphia,
or Boston.

4       Blogging

I feel like I have so much to
learn about blogging still…besides making content for Emma’s Edition, I feel
like I need to learn more about SEO, seek out more partnerships with brands
that I identify with, and push myself to be more creative. I really want to get
into creating videos in 2017! Ahh I have so many ideas for Emma’s Edition so I’m
glad I have a new year to implement them all.

5       Health

Being active and healthy has
always been the forefront of my life. Recently I started going to physical
therapy to strengthen my knees…all those years of running, gymnastics, and
partner stunting have finally taken a toll on my body. Now I need to strengthen
certain muscles and stretch more to make sure I can continue to be active. I
can’t imagine my life without running so I’m serious about physical therapy. Additionally,
I’m going to push myself to learn how to cook healthy meals (or to cook in
general). I never carve out time to cook for myself so I want to bring that
into focus in 2017.

These are just the five main spaces I’m
putting intention and energy into my life in 2017!

Now here’s 3 recommendations to setting and achieving your New Years Resolutions:

1. Reflect on specific spaces in your life you want to grow, develop, or refine – is it health? Or personal finances? Or education? Defining where you want focus your energy will help you achieve your goals.

2. Write it down – whether you keep a personal journal, use a planner or just your iPhone notes. Studies show that writing down your goals will make you more likely to achieve them. Personally, I write annual and monthly goals in my planner.

3. Share your goals with your family and friends – One way to help keep you accountable is to share your goals with your family and friends. My parents, boyfriend, and friends always help me keep my goals in perspective and also provide support when I’m feeling down about achieving them. Your goals are much more achievable when you have a supportive network!

What are some of your New Year’s Resolutions?

Thank you for reading!

Love,

Emma
