Anyone else love a great staycation or is just me?
This year I’ve embraced staycations because my schedule got pretty hectic when I started grad school. Rather than flying out, I’ve been exploring both western and eastern Washington. I’ve stayed in Downtown Seattle, gone over to the Tricities, and now I’ve staycationed at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood.
I was invited by the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood to check out the new renovated hotel this past weekend. I decided to bring along my sister to explore the hotel’s new atrium, common space, and redesigned restaurant! We got to relax, unwind, and do some shopping around Lynnwood.
But by far, our favorite part was eating at the hotel. We were welcomed with an incredible snack platter, then we headed to a two hour complimentary drink/snacks, then we had dinner at the Cascades, and the next day we absolutely loved the made to cook breakfast! We had such a great time at the Embassy Suites that I wanted to share a few reasons on why you should plan a staycation next!
Before we jump in, who is the Embassy Suites by Hilton- Seattle/North Lynnwood?
Embassy Suites by Hilton is one of Hilton’s 14 hotel brands. Embassy Suites welcomes families, businesses, weddings, high school class reunions, and even pets. Whether you’re looking for an atrium to meet in, a pool for your kids to swim in, or a 24 hour complimentary fitness center, Embassy Suites has got you covered!
If you’ve been thinking about a staycation, here are 4 reasons to plan your next staycation at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood:
#1 Take a staycation to break up your normal routine – especially if you want a vacation.
Do you ever feel like you’re going through the same motions over and over again? I sure do – especially when I’m running to work, running to class, running to do my homework, and running to the next thing on my to do list. I personally love staycations because it was a great way to break up my busy schedule. I love looking forward to a new local adventure during the work week!
#2 Take a staycation and be a tourist in your own city (or neighboring city)
Another reason I love staycations is because I get a chance to explore, shop, and eat my way through the city! When we staycationed in Lynnwood this past weekend, we got to stop by Alderwood Mall, Nordstrom Rack, and we also picked up donuts at the Donut Factory!
The Embassy Suites in Lynnwood is such a great location. It’s right off the I5 freeway and about 25-30 min from downtown Seattle. You can check out Pike Place Market, the Seattle Waterfront, or the Seattle Art Museum if you want to explore downtown.
If you want to explore the North Seattle neighborhoods, like Northgate, Greenlake, or Wallingford, Lynnwood is only about 15 min away. In the North Seattle neighborhoods, you can check out Woodland Park Zoo, walk Greenlake Park, or shop at Northgate mall!
If you want to head to the water or a whale watching tour, Edmonds is only 11 minutes away. Edmonds also has an adorable downtown area!
#3 Staycations are a cost effective way to vacation
If you don’t want to spend money on airfare for your next getaway, staycations are a great way to explore and save money. The great thing about Washington is that you don’t have to fly to explore a new part of state. You literally can drive up 30 min north and find great places to eat and shop!
#4 Staycations are a great way to spend time with loved ones
My sister and I spent this staycation together for our sister day! We’ve gotten busier over the years and have committed to having sister days almost other month. We loved hanging out at the hotel, grabbing dinner at the Cascades – the restaurant in hotel, and also shopping!
Thank you again to the Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle-North/Lynnwood for inviting me to stay this past weekend! From the front desk to the restaurant, the staff was incredibly welcoming and made our stay more enjoyable.

I personally love any type of vacation! Lol Staycations are a lot of fun and a lot more inexpensive. I can place that money I would normally need for airfare towards a nice meal instead! Those sliders in your photo look amazing btw! Hamburgers are king around here and sliders included! I really want to visit Seattle again and if I do, I will keep this location in Lynwood in mind. I hope your week is going well so far!
