Are you planning a trip to New York soon? Are you looking for instagrammable places in New York City?
I recently visited New York City for September’s New York Fashion Week a few weeks ago. My friend/photographer Karya and I had a blast exploring the city, attending shows, and looking for Instagram worthy places.
To be honest, New York has an endless amount of instagrammable places. Each neighborhood has its own set of colorful murals, delicious restaurants, and adorable corners. So today I’m sharing just 10 instagrammable places we stopped by during our trip!
Here are 10 Instagrammable Places in New York City
Instagrammable places in NYC #1: Top of the Rock Observatory
If you’re heading into the city and you’ve never visited Rockefeller Center, I highly recommend heading up to the top of the Top of the Rock! You’ll see the New York City skyline from the 70 floors above. There are also three viewing decks (both indoor and outdoor) where you can see both Central Park and the Empire State building.
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
Buy tickets a few days ahead of time so you don’t have to wait in line and can go straight into the building! I highly recommend also going there right when it opens so you aren’t battling crowds! I also shared a whole blog post highlighting the Top of the Rock + the behind the scenes of NYFW if you want some photo ideas.
Address:
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, NY 10112
Instagrammable places in NYC #2: The Color Factory
The Color Factory New York City was one of my favorite stops in New York! This interactive exhibit was filled with color, desserts, and picture perfect spots! I loved seeing the different art installations from local New York artists. I also enjoyed how each room of the 20,000 square foot space was different. We were at disco in one room, playing xylophones in the next room, and then jumping into the ball pit in the room after!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
Take your time through the Color Factory. It isn’t a timed experience so you can wait for crowds to pass through.
Address:
251 Spring St, New York, NY 10013
Instagrammable places in NYC #3: Milk & Cream Cereal Bar
I stop by Milk & Cream Cereal Bar every time I’m in New York City! If you haven’t heard of Milk Bar before, Milk Bar is a dessert place that incorporates your favorite cereals, candies, fruits, and nuts into your custom dessert. At Milk Bar, you can choose an ice cream swirl, milkshake, and even a cereal bowl. There are multiple locations throughout the city but the one we stopped by was in Nolita!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
Milk Bar has an adorable storefront. I would just wait for people to pass on the sidewalk if you’re wanting to take a photo outside!
Address:
159 Mott Street
New York, NY 10013

Instagrammable places in NYC #4: NoMo SoHo
If you follow any New York based bloggers, you may have seen Nomo SoHo featured in their feeds at some point. NoMo stands for nostalgic and modern. NoMo SoHo is a hotel and a bar/restaurant. NoMo SoHo also has a beautiful green archway filled with lights!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
NoMo SoHo is photographed pretty often. So don’t be surprised if you find another group of photographers, bloggers, or models waiting their turn to be photographed in the archways. I would also be mindful of the restaurant or hotel guests walking through the archway to get into the building. Let the hotel guests/restaurant customers make their way through before jumping in front of the archways to take a photo!
Address:
NoMo SoHo
9 Crosby Street
Instagrammable places in NYC #5: Pietro Nolita
If you’re looking for an adorable pink restaurant, Pietro Nolita is the spot! Pietro Nolita is an Italian restaurant with a 1950s style and pink motif. This restaurant is tiny on the inside and its storefront is also a lot smaller in person. I love anything pink so I was excited to stop by this place!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
Since this is a restaurant, I would be mindful of any customers eating outside. Like NoMo SoHo, this restaurant is also photographed often. You may be waiting on other groups getting photos, so just be patient!
Address:
174 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012

Instagrammable places in NYC #6: SoHo Neighborhood
If you’ve never been to New York before, you may be asking: what is SoHo? SoHo is located in Lower Manhattan and known for the designer stores, shopping and eating experiences. If you’re looking for that classic New York street style photo, SoHo has so many amazing city streets.
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
Depending on the time of day, the lighting might be harsh or uneven. I would find a street with even lighting or in the shadows. I would also try to find a street that isn’t bustling with tourist!
Instagrammable places in NYC #7: Gansevoort Hotel Meatpacking Rooftop
If you’re looking to stay in the city or the Chelsea neighborhood, I highly recommend checking out the Gansevoort Hotel Meatpacking. From the tiles, to the colorful murals, and the pool area, each corner of the Gansevoort Hotel rooftop is picture perfect! You can read about my full experience staying at this hotel during fashion week.
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
Come up to the rooftop first thing in the morning! Karya and I were the only ones shooting on the roof right at 9am.
Address: 18 Ninth Avenue (at 13th Street) New York, NY 10014
Instagrammable places in NYC #8: Sezane – L’Appartement New York Storefront
What is Sezane? Sezane is a French label that opened its first New York Store in Nolita. Besides producing beautiful pieces, I love how Sezane is mindful of its environmental impact. The storefront is decked out for fall/the holidays right now. The store is also beautifully decorated in the inside!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
I would recommend shooting here during the weekdays – I imagine it’s much busier during the weekends!
Address: 254 ELIZABETH ST, NEW YORK, NY 10012
Instagrammable places in NYC #9: The Corner Deli
If you’re looking for a cute corner deli or store, the Corner Deli in Lower Manhattan is the spot. I love the neon lights of this little store!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
This corner is super busy with two crosswalks leading right up to it and constant stream or cars and buses. I would be mindful of the people and cars around you!
Address: 106 Kenmare St, New York, NY 10012
Instagrammable places in NYC #10: Chelsea Neighborhood – Yellow Disney/Mickey Mouse Wall
Did you know that Disney is opening an interactive art exhibit in Chelsea for Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday?! Karya and I were walking to the Pier 59 shows when we stumbled upon this bright yellow wall/advertisement for this experience. The exhibit will open on November 8th and close on February 10th. If I get a chance to go back to the city, I’d love to see this exhibit.
Right now, there is a yellow wall with Mickey Mouse’s face advertising this space. It makes a great backdrop for a photo!
Tips for getting the perfect Instagram photo:
The street wasn’t too busy when we stopped to take a photo. Karya stood on the street to take this shot. I would be mindful of the cars on the street if you decide to take a photo here!
