New apartment, new school year, and new favorites from Pottery Barn Dorm & Pottery Barn Teen!

Last year when I moved in with my boyfriend and started my first year of grad school last year, we basically used all his stuff to furnish the apartment. The couch, the coffee table, the TV stand, and everything in the kitchen (except for the rice cooker) was all his. At this point of my life, I was totally fine with it. I was so busy and frazzled adding grad school to a full time job and blogging that I really didn’t have the energy to decorate the apartment with pieces that both reflected us.

This school year is different. We moved out of the city and into an apartment with enough space for me, Brandon, and Boone. I also feel more confident about how to balance grad school everything else. I was determined to develop and showcase more of my personal style in our apartment. So when Pottery Barn Dorm and Teen and College Fashionista reached out to collaborate, I was so excited!

I’ve been wanting a leaning rack FOREVER! I picked this one out because it’s functional and decorative. I love how I can hang a blouse or a purse. I also love how I can use the shelves for a few of my favorite coffee table books and some of my favorite pairs of shoes.

My little sister set up her make up cart this year so decided I also needed a makeup cart. I love how this make up cart has more than enough space for all my makeup and jewelry! It also matches my white leaning rack!

I wouldn’t be ready for the school year without a new planner and notebooks. I absolutely love the floral designs! I’m excited that these notebooks are super lightweight.

Now my succulents have a place to go! I also realized after we installed this shelf that I never installed a shelf at ANY of my previous apartments. Now I can’t imagine an apartment or a home without shelves. Where would my picture frames and plants go?!
