Are you planning a hotel photo shoot or looking for hotel photo inspiration?

One of my goals this year is travel more and one of my long term goals is to create an Instagram city guide for all 50 states. I started last year and created Instagram guides for Seattle, New York, and Pittsburgh. In 2019, I’ve visited Portland, San Francisco, and New Orleans. And I have Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Nashville, and a handful of other cities on my list still for this year.
As I’ve traveled to other cities, I’ve also work with hotels. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Hotel Theodore in Seattle, the Dossier in Portland, the Gansevoort in New York, the Old 77 Hotel in New Orleans, and the Clift in San Francisco. All of these hotel visits have inspired Karya and I to create fun, interesting hotel photo shoots. So today I wanted to share 10 posing ideas for your next hotel photo shoot!
Here are 8 poses you can try at your next hotel photo shoot:
1. Laying on the bed
My tip of getting the laying in the bed shot is to be propped up by pillows.

2. Robe with a bouquet of flowers
I personally love adding props to photos like flowers. If you’re interested in adding florals to your next hotel photo shoot, you can also check out: How to Pose with Flowers: 6 Ideas You Can Try.

3. Champagne or wine in bed
If you’re relaxing with wine or celebrating with champagne, you can add it to your hotel photo shoot shot list.

4. Bathtub with flowers
During our stay at the Dossier Hotel, we stopped by the local Saturday Farmers Market. We saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers and I knew we needed to incorporate them into a photo shoot somehow. The Dossier had a great tub so we thought it would be fun to do an entire bathroom flower shoot!

5. Lounging with a friend
If you’re planning a girls weekend, this can be a fun shot to re-create. I recommend getting into those comfy robes and also sitting on pillow to help prop you up for the hotel photo shoot.

6. Legs against the headboard
This is a super easy hotel posing idea. All you day is laydown and bring your legs up against the head board.

7. Framing the hotel in the background
Karya and I always tie in the front of the hotel. When I’m personally traveling, I always look to see where the hotel is located in the city. I also always pull it in Google Maps so I can see what the building looks like before I arrive.

8. Sitting on the hotel chair
Throw on your robe and a towel in your hair for a casual lounging shot.
