Are you looking for a boutique hotel in New Orleans? Meet the Old 77 Hotel & Chandlery.

This blog post was made in collaboration with Provenance Hotels and all my opinions are my own.

My friend/photographer Karya and I were so excited to visit New Orleans for the first time. And we were excited to partner with Provenance Hotels again to showcase their NOLA hotel.

Who is the Old 77 Hotel & Chandlery?

The Old 77 was originally built in 1854 as a coffee warehouse.
It was then purchased by E.J. Hart & Company and the coffee warehouse was
turned into a chandlery. The building held everything from canvas, to tobacco,
to patent medicines, and other goods used for sailing voyages.

Today the 4 story boutique hotel has a restaurant (Compere
Lapin), a coffee bar, a great fitness room, and an incredible hotel art collection.

Where is the Old 77 Hotel & Chandlery located?

The hotel is located in the Warehouse Arts District. The
hotel is only about a 10 min walk from the French Quarter.

5 Highlights from the
Old 77 Hotel & Chandlery:

1. The Location

The hotel is a 20-25 min Uber/Lyft drive from the airport.
It’s a 10 min walk to the French Quarter and a 10 min Uber/Lyft ride to the
Garden District. If you’re looking to stay in the middle of NOLA, this hotel is
a great choice!

During our weekend there, we created 12 Most Instagrammable Places in New Orleans. And we found all these amazing places within a 10 min car ride from the hotel! From the hotel, you can walk to Auction House Market and Flamingo A-Go-Go – these two spots are both in the Warehouse Arts District. You can also walk to Jackson Square and Café Du Monde!

2. The Restaurant: Compere Lapin & Coffee Stand: Tout La

Eating at Compere Lapin was one of the highlights of my
weekend trip. I had a Wagyu burger, salad, and the complimentary biscuits and
it was all delicious! The service was also exceptional.

Karya and I also loved the coffee stand right next to the lobby. The hotel gifted 2 coffee tokens for both Karya and I and it was such a treat. We both opted for an iced tea and an iced coffee to start both days we were in NOLA.

3. Great Fitness Center

With all the delicious food we were eating in New Orleans, I
knew I needed to get a quick 30 min cardio workout in before we started our
day. I went down to the ground level floor to the gym. The gym was set up well
with a stationary bike, a few elliptical, a bench, free weights, and towels.

Having a solid hotel gym is always pretty high on my list. I
try to get at least one workout in during weekend trips and a handful of
workouts in for extended stays.

4. Comfortable Beds

Both Karya and I loved the hotel beds – especially for
napping! We started our first day in New Orleans right at 7am. We had our list
of places to shoot for the trip and we knew we needed to be done with most of
our photo shoots by 1pm because of the heat. It was 83 degrees at 7am and close
to 90 degrees by noon. We went back to the hotel at the height of the day and
literally took an afternoon nap after lunch.

After a few hours napping, recharging, and relaxing in the air conditioning, we decided to venture back out.

5. The character of the hotel

One thing that stood out to me about this hotel is the character. I absolutely loved the exposed brick mixed with modern touches. You could tell that the building of hotel has a rich history. Yet the hotel still felt luxurious – especially at the lobby and hotel restaurant.
