Are you looking for self-portrait posing ideas? Here are a few poses you can try for your next self-timer photo shoot!

It’s officially month 3 of staying home and staying safe in Washington State. While the state is slowly reopening and on track for its four-phase plan, outdoor photo shoots with friends outside your household isn’t still allowed.
I’ve adapted to taking my own photos at home – without any of my photographer or blogger friends. While it has been an adjustment to learn how to take my photos on self-timer, I’ve discovered a new creativity within me. Instead of looking outward and finding Instagram-worthy places like I usually do, I’ve been searching inward and discovering new ways to create fun photos on my own.
If you’re looking for self-portrait posing ideas, here are a few poses you can try next:
1.Use a magnifying glass

One of my favorite content creators from NYC, Chelsea As of Late, was the one who inspired me to try shooting with a magnifying glass! I decided to put my own spin posing with a magnifying glass by adding flowers to the photo!

2. Get creative with a cereal box
Instead of posing with cereal, I decided to transform an old cereal box into a box of Flower Ohs! I was inspired by watching the Big Flower Fight on Netflix to do something with flowers. So I decided to put flowers in a cereal box.

3. Pose with bubble gum
An easy prop you can pick up at the grocery store is a pack of bubble gum. This gum was 99 cents at QFC and it was an easy prop to use for self-portraits! It was also kind of funny trying to blow a bubble big enough to take a photo with.

4. Use magazines

If you’re looking for a multi-purpose prop to pose with for your next indoor photo shoot, I recommend using magazines!
I wanted to create a collage so I decided to cut the words out of my Vogue magazines. It dawned on me that I should paste these words on my face for a creative photo shoot… it sounds crazy but the photos turned out amazing!

5. Pose with a vintage phone
“Hello friend? Is that you?” An easy way to pose for a self-portrait photoshoot is to incorporate an old phone. I found this one at Value Village last winter and have used it as a prop multiple times for photo shoots! You can also find vintage phones on Amazon.

6. Pose with flowers
Flowers are one of my favorite things to incorporate in self-portrait photo shoots. Flowers add color, textures, and a natural element. You can put the flowers in your hair or use the flowers to frame the shot.

7. Pour a jar of sprinkles into a bowl
If you’re looking for an easy prop to pose with that you probably have in your kitchen, I recommend grabbing a bowl, spoon, and a jar of sprinkles. Sprinkles are a fun way to add some color to your photos!

8. Pose with a coloring book
I’m not going to lie… I’ve been coloring almost every day since the Stay at Home Order! Coloring calms me down and it’s a lot of fun for me to play with colors. I decided to print out a separate sheet of butterflies to color. I cut the butterflies out and glued them onto my arm for a creative twist.
