Are you planning a picnic shoot soon? Here are a few picnic posing ideas you can try!

A few weekends ago, my friend Maddy, Sam (Maddy’s fiancé and our photographer), and I went over to Eastern Washington for day trip. We decided to stop by Cave B Winery after visiting Trinity Garden Lavender Fields. We wore our mask to go inside and buy a bottle of wine, found a spot on the field away from everyone, and decided to have a picnic and a photo shoot!
If you’re planning a picnic photo shoot, this blog post is for you! I’m sharing picnic photo ideas you can try this spring or summer.
Here are 8 picnic posing ideas you can try:
1.Extend a Polaroid camera towards the camera

A fun prop you can use for a picnic photo shoot is a Polaroid camera! One way to create a more interesting shot is to extend the Polaroid camera towards the camera. This pose plays with the depth.
2. Look down at the charcuterie board

One of my favorite things about this photo shoot was putting the charcuterie board together and then eating it afterwards! That look of excitement is real. I was stoked to eat the charcuterie board after this shoot!
FYI – if you’re looking to create a charcuterie board for a picnic, I highly recommend going to Trader Joe’s. They have so many different types of cheeses and different cured meats.
3. Laugh with a friend

Maddy and I were literally laughing at how windy it was this day. We were trying to tame our hair and still look cute. Even though capturing these photos was a struggle, the photos still turned out cute!
4. Cheers towards the camera
Instead of extending a Polaroid camera towards the camera, extend your wine glass!

5. Hold the charcuterie board
This is a super easy picnic photo shoot idea to try if you’re looking for a way to engage with your props in the shoot.

6. Cover one eye with a cracker
The cover one eye with a piece of food is one of my go to poses. I usually do this pose with a donut or cookie but a cracker totally worked for this picnic photo shoot!

7. Look out into the distance
Cave B is stunning! The picnic spot we chose overlooked the vineyards.

8. Place one hand on your shoulder
An easy way to create a more interesting photo is to create shapes – like triangles with your body.
