Are you trying to figure out how to negotiate (paid) brand collaborations?
In 2017, I decided to start documenting my journey as a blogger. I decided that I would share the lessons I learned working with brands and how I created content with blog posts like “How to Reach out and Collaborate with Brands as a Blogger” and “5 Instagram/Blogging Secrets of Emma’s Edition”.
I’ve realized that I love sharing the business side of blogging and content creation tips. But it’s taken me few years to gather the courage to put together my first course. If you been following along the past few years, you know I’ve been sharing content creation and tips on working with brands for free.
I’ve been consistently growing my blogging side hustle since 2016.
In 2018, I earned $10,000 in revenue with my blog on top of my full-time job in aerospace. In 2019, I earned $40,000 in revenue with my blog – again on top of my full-time job in aerospace. I ended 2019 with 29,500+ followers and maintained a 4% engagement rate.
I’ve always worked full-time and worked on my blog on nights and weekends. For two years (2017-2019), I also pursued and received my Master of Communication in Digital Media degree. At the end of 2019, I was blown away when I brought home $40,000 on top of my corporate salary. I couldn’t believe that doing a mix of long-term and short-term brand partnerships could bring in so much additional income. My blog has allowed me to build my emergency savings account and save towards the down payment for our first home.
I’ve realized that my undergrad in business, my 6 years in corporate America, and my passion for content creation and digital media has set me up to be successful in the influencer space. I’ve realized that using the same types of negotiation email templates worked for multiple brands across industries.
My purpose for the course: How to Negotiate (Paid) Brand Collaborations
My goal is to help other bloggers and influencers not be afraid to negotiate, have to confidence to ask brands to be paid, and the tools (email templates) to negotiate their next brand campaign.
As a blogger and influencer, it’s taken me years to feel comfortable asking brands to be paid. I started by blog in 2014, started taking it seriously in 2016, and landed my first brand campaign in 2017. I know how hard it is to navigate the blogging world and try to figure out how to work with brands.
