Are you looking for engagement photo shoots around the Greater Seattle area? Here are wedding or engagement photo shoot locations from Tacoma, Redmond, and Seattle.

As a Seattle content creator, I’m constantly looking for new places to take photos for my blog, Instagram, and podcast. But this year, my husband and I got married! After postponing our wedding 9 months past our original wedding date in 2020, we celebrated our micro-wedding with our immediate family members on Saturday May 22nd, 2021.
Prior to tying the knot, my husband and I had to figure out where to take engagement photos around the Greater Seattle area. I looked back at all the places I took photos for my blog and realized that some of these spots would be great for engagement photos. I hope this list of engagement photo shoot locations helps you and your partner find a spot to take photos!
Here are 10 Engagement Shoot Locations Around The Greater Seattle Area:
#1 Mukilteo Lighthouse – Mukilteo, WA
Address: 608 Front St, Mukilteo, WA 98275

Photo: Saskia Potter
Unlike the rest of the places featured on this list, I had never shot at the Mukilteo Lighthouse before. I had seen photos of the Mukilteo Lighthouse online and on Instagram and I’m so glad my husband Brandon and I ended up taking photos here.
We shot in traditional Filipino clothing for half of our engagement photos. To see the rest of the photos, check out:
#2 Discovery Park – Seattle, WA
Address: 3801 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle, WA 98199

Discovery Park is over 500 acres and located in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. There are so many great places to shoot at Discovery Park. You can take photos at:
- Fort Lawton Beach
- West Point Light house
- The Quartermaster Stables – Ft. Lawton Historic District
- Or just in the fields alongside the trails
My tip for shooting engagement photos at Discovery Park is to scope the park and the specific location you want to take photos at before you take your actual photos. Because the park is so big, it can get easy to get lost in the park or not find the specific place you want to look for.
Additionally, while there are several parking lots to choose from, be prepared to walk through trails to get to different photo locations. I would recommend packing comfortable shoes if you plan on walking to different locations around the park to take photos.
#3 Tacoma Wright Park – Tacoma, WA
Address: 501 S I St, Tacoma, WA 98405

For our Save the Date photos, Brandon and I went to Wright Park in Tacoma. We loved taking photos outside the Arboretum. If you decide to take engagement photos during fall, Wright Park is a great choice. I love walking through the park during autumn and seeing all the different fall colors!
#4 University of Washington – Seattle, WA
Address: 1400 NE Campus Parkway, Seattle, WA

Photo: Jenny Roso Photography.
The University of Washington campus is beautiful. It’s an open campus – so even if you aren’t a student you can walk on and see the campus (you won’t be able to open some of the buildings without a Husky Student ID though).
During the spring, the cherry blossoms in the Quad are breathtaking. A few other buildings I recommend taking photos in front of include Denny Hall, Suzallo Hall in Red Square, and any buildings in the Quad (Savery, Raitt, Smith, and Miller Hall).
I recommend parking in the Central Plaza Parking garage underneath Red Square vs. trying to find street parking around the surrounding areas.
#5 Snoqualmie Pass, Hyak Sno-Park – Cascade Mountains
Directions: Use I-90 Exit 54

Photo: Sam Duggan & @madcrayy
If you’re looking to take winter engagement photos and you’re looking for snow in the mountains, I recommend checking out Hyak Sno-Park in Snoqualmie Pass. You don’t even have to hike onto the trail to get beautiful snow photos.
I do want to give a quick warning that on winter weekends, the snow park can get pretty busy. Snoqualmie Pass seemed especially busy this past winter!
#6 Marymoor Park – Redmond, WA
Address: 6046 West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE, Redmond, WA 98052

Photo: Sam Duggan & @madcrayy
If you’re looking for a fall engagement photo shoot location outside of Settle, I recommend checking out Marymoor Park. I recommend shooting at the Windmill if you’re looking for a specific backdrop in the park.
My friend Maddy and I took fall photo outfit photos shoots in Marymoor Park. As we were taking photos, I also thought it would be a beautiful place to take engagement photos!
#7 Juanita Bay Park – Kirkland, WA
Address: 2201 Market St, Kirkland, WA 98033

Photo: Sam Duggan & @madcrayy
This past fall, Maddy and I collaborated with La Vision Events to do a fall picnic giveaway. La Vision Events set up this beautiful picnic set up at Juanita Bay Park.
If you’re looking for a unique proposal set up or a fun engagement photo shoot idea, I recommend reaching out to one of the Seattle picnics companies to set it up at Juanita Bay Park.
#8 Tacoma Glass Museum – Tacoma, WA
Address for parking garage: 1801 Dock St, Tacoma, WA 98402

Photo: Holly Phan Photography
I a few years ago, I put together Tacoma’s Most Instagrammable Places. The Tacoma Glass Museum is a great spot for engagement photos in Tacoma. You can take photos both on the bridge or in front of the unique building.
#9 Mount Rainier National Park
Address: Longmire Wilderness Information Longmire Rd, Packwood, WA 98361

Photo: Sam Duggan & @madcrayy
If you’re looking for another winter engagement photo shoot location around Western Washington, I recommend checking out Mount Rainier National Park. The park is huge so I do recommend selecting the areas you want to take photos at ahead of time.
#10 My Little White House – West Seattle

Photo: @madcrayy
If you’re looking for a place you can rent all to yourself, I recommend checking out the My Little White House in West Seattle. Theres a 170 sq. ft all white home in this property plus the garden area. While Maddy and I rented it to take blog photos, it would also be a great spot for engagement photos. For couples who want to take photos in private, I would recommend a unique studio rental like this!
