Are you planning a summer photo shoot soon? Here are a few summer posing ideas you can do in your backyard!

Surprise! You don’t need to travel anywhere this summer to take cute summer photos. If you have a front yard, back yard, or a friend/family’s yard you can borrow, you can set up summer photo shoots. I was inspired to put together summer posing ideas in your backyard after preparing for several brand partnerships this summer.
If you’re looking to set up a summer photo shoot at home, this blog post is for you! A lot of these props you can use for photos are probably already inside your house (beach towel, sprinkler, etc.). But I’ve included all the summer props you could use for this photo shoot if you don’t have these items yet.
Here are 7 Summer Posing Ideas in Your Backyard
Summer Pose #1: Play in the sprinkler

Many homes in western Washington don’t have pools, but plenty of households have sprinklers! You can stay cool this summer and shoot a few photos with your sprinkler. This sprinkler was less than $10 from Home Depot and we had so much fun taking photos.

Summer Pose #2: Sit in a pool floatie
Just because you don’t have a pool doesn’t mean you can’t use pool floaties in your next summer photo shoot! You can pick up inexpensive floaties at your local Target or grocery store.

Summer Pose #3: Wear your pool floatie
Again, you don’t need a pool to pose with a pool floatie! I thought this flamingo pool floatie matched my tie-dye swimsuit, so I took a few photos with it.

Summer Pose #4: Set up your backyard games

Brandon and I recently picked up a few backyard games since we have a backyard this summer (we bought our first house at the end of last summer). I picked up giant Jenga and giant connect four from T.J. Maxx earlier this season. These giant games also make for great props for summer photo shoots!

Summer Pose #5: Hold your shoes and your cocktails
If you’re looking to create vacation vibes in your backyard or front yard, wear a fun summer dress and grab your cocktail. I was so surprised how cute these photos turned out.

Summer Pose #6: Wear your beach towel
If you’re looking to add more color to your summer photo shoot, bring in colorful beach towels. I recently picked up this beach towel from Target!

Summer Pose #7: Lean your pool floatie against you
Another easy way to incorporate color in your summer poses is to add in a striped or patterned pool floatie. I leaned this pool floatie against my body and posed with a classic peace sign.
