Can you believe we’re already half-way through the year? Here is my Q22021 Update for Emma’s Edition!

One thing I’ll be doing for Emma’s Edition once a quarter is sharing quarterly updates. I usually create monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. I think it’ll be fun to take a look back at each quarter and provide an update to see how I’m doing with Emma’s Edition and the Content Creatives Podcast.
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing 3 highs, 1 low, and 1 life event for my Q22021 Update. Additionally, while I’ve laid out my annual 2021 goals already, I’ve found that I tend to set new goals as I get a better understanding of where my platforms are at each quarter. I’m excited to share where I’m at with my annual goals as well as share a few new goals for Q32021.

3 Highs of Q22021 for Emma’s Edition:
1. I surpassed my quarterly revenue goal by $20,000.
I was shocked that Q22021 was as busy as it was. I came out of taking a full week off at the end of March ready for the second quarter of the year and the brand partnerships came pouring into my inbox. I’m extremely grateful of all the brand opportunities I got to work on this past quarter.
My biggest brand partnership was $14,500 and my smallest brand partnership was $2,200. If you’re wondering how it’s possible to land 4-figure and 5-figure campaigns, it’s a combination of things that contribute to success.
One of the biggest things that’s helped me maximize my earnings as an influencer is negotiating every partnership. If you’re negotiating is a pain point for you as a creator, I highly recommend checking out: How to Negotiate (Paid) Brand Collaborations. My course shares the 12 email templates I use over and over again to negotiate.
My annual revenue goal for Emma’s Edition is $200,000. I’ve secured $120,000 in brand partnerships this year and I’m on track to meet my revenue goal.
2. I landed 4 new influencer campaigns with previous PR agencies and influencer agencies.
Aside from negotiating, building relationships with in-house marketing teams, public relation agencies, and influencer agencies has helped me land new brand partnerships. There are some PR agencies I’ve been working with since 2018 that bring me on for brand campaigns when they think I’m a good fit. I secured $21,000+ in new brand partnerships with teams I’ve previously worked with.
A lot of creators don’t realize that there are future opportunities with brand partners you’ve already worked with. As I end each campaign I work with, I usually will ask the brand or the PR team to keep me in mind for future brand partnerships if they need the support.
3. We launched mini-sodes for the Content Creatives Podcast.
One thing I’m super proud of this past quarter is launching mini-sodes for the podcast. I really wanted us to get in the cadence of recording two episodes a week and publishing two episodes a week. Here are some of my favorite mini-sodes we’ve done so far:
- 3 Things to Focus on INSTEAD of the Following Number
- 3 Ways to Drive Engagement on Instagram
- 5 Things You Should Include in Your Instagram Bio
Another Q22021 update for the Content Creatives Podcast is that we’re consistently sending newsletters with the newest podcast episodes every week. It took me a while to get consistent with our email newsletters and I’m glad I’ve finally built it into my schedule.

Life Update: I got married!
One life update that happened in Q2 was that I finally got married. Brandon and I postponed our wedding from September 2020 to May 2021. We got married on May 22nd 2021 at Willows Lodge in Woodinville. You can find our wedding recap and details in these previous blog posts:

Q2 Low: Not taking enough time off for the wedding
One thing I wish I had done this past quarter was take more time off for our wedding. I worked up until Wednesday on the week of our wedding. And I got back on Thursday/Friday after our wedding to answer a few emails. To be honest, I had a lot of brand partnerships in the works during that time so I was juggling a handful of brand projects while trying to focus on our wedding. I do wish I had taken the whole week off before and after the wedding.

What’s next for Q32021?
TikTok: Continuing to Build Consistency
One of my annual goals for Emma’s Edition in 2021 is to continue to build my TikTok. Now that the wedding is over, I’ll be focused on creating more short form video content for TikTok. My last few partnership inquiries have been on TikTok, so I know my brand partners are starting to take TikTok more seriously.
Bring on monthly guests for the Content Creatives Podcast
For the podcast, my goal is to highlight 1-2 podcast guests a month. We have a whole list of potential brands and people we want to pitch and invite to be podcast guests. Some of brand on our list include the founder of Selkie, Shop Box Fox, and Sugar Doh. If there are any other creators or brands you want to see on the podcast, please let us know!
