I got to check off one of the biggest things on my Washington travel bucket list: the Sequim Lavender fields. Every year, I tell myself that I’m going to go to the Sequim Lavender Festival in July. And this year, Maddy and I finally got to go! Even though the official lavender festival was cancelled this year due to the pandemic, the individual lavender fields are still open to the public. I’m so glad we ventured out to the Olympic Peninsula and finally got to visit the lavender fields.
Before you head out to Sequim, I recommend checking to see each lavender field’s website, hours of operations, and to see if they have any specific covid-19 protocols. We decided to visit three lavender locations during our two days stay in Sequim. One of my favorite Sequim lavender field was:
Purple Haze Organic Lavender Farm

Purple Haze is a lavender farm, a wedding venue, and they also have a gift shop on the farm. This lavender farm is located in the Dungeness Valley of the Olympic Peninsula. Located on the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, this unique location in Washington State creates a great climate for growing lavender. Lavender thrives in the Olympic Peninsula because of the low rainfall (less than 20 inches of rain per year vs. 39 inches of rain in Seattle) and mild winters.
Purple Haze is open every day from 10am-5pm from Memorial Day Weekend (May)- Labor Day weekend (September). You can pick your own lavender, eat lavender flavored ice cream, and experience the fragrance and the fields!
