Are you and your best friend looking for an easy Halloween costume? Here are 4 easy BFF Halloween costume ideas.
This year, Maddy and I were inspired by Selkie dresses to pull our best friend Halloween costume ideas together. Maddy has a growing collection of Selkies, and we ended up finding 6 different Halloween costumes that you could create out of Selkies. We ended up styling Mario, Luigi, Princess Tiana, Princess Charlotte, Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked with Selkies.
The only non-Selkie BFF Halloween costume was inspired by one of my favorite 2000s movies: Miss Congeniality. Maddy wore a silver gown she wore at New Year’s last year and I ended up renting my dress from Rent the Runway. Even though our sashes didn’t come in time, we still pulled that Halloween costume together with the roses and the crown.
Here are the 4 BFF Halloween Costume Ideas we pulled together this October:
Mario and Luigi
You don’t need the exact red and green Selkie dresses to pull these Halloween costumes together. You could find any red and green dress or red and green t-shirts to wear for the Mario and Luigi Halloween costumes. I recommend completing your look with hats and white gloves.
Princess Tiana and Princess Charlotte
If you don’t have a Selkie dress, you can either thrift a long ball gown or you could rent one from a clothing rental service like Rent the Runway I finally bought my very first Selkie dress, the Jade Midi Puff Dress and I was inspired to dress up as Princess Tiana. Maddy decided to dress up as Tiana’s friend, Princess Charlotte, since she had the long pink Selkie gown.
Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked
Maddy was so excited to pull together Wicked costumes with her Selkie dresses this year. We added a few accessories, like a princess crown, a wand, a broom, and a witch hat to pull this Halloween costume together.
Miss New Jersey and Miss Rhode Island
If you’ve seen Miss Congeniality, hopefully you’re seeing the scene where Sandra Bullock is trying to rip the crown off Miss Rhode Island’s head because that’s where the bomb was planted in the movie. Our sashes didn’t come in time so hopefully this costume still looks like it’s from Miss Congeniality!
