Are you looking to add to your winter wardrobe? Here are 5 winter wardrobe essentials under $150!

I recently got back from a cabin weekend getaway with my friends Sam and Maddy. We decided that we wanted to stay at one of the Instagram-worthy A-frame cabins in the Pacific Northwest. We ended up booking Sky Haus from Tye Haus from Tye River Cabin Co. through Airbnb back in June for our November weekend getaway. We had no idea you should be booking 6 months in advance to rent one of these Instagram famous cabins. When we found out there was going to be availability in November, we jumped at the chance to book it.
November in the Pacific Northwest can be cold, wet, and rainy. Luckily, we had one day of sunshine and no rain and the other two days of downpour. If you’re heading to a winter getaway in the Pacific Northwest, I would recommend packing for the weather. You might get lucky and get a day of sunshine and blue skies, or you might get normal Pacific Northwest weather.
This cabin trip inspired me to start thinking about what I wanted to pack and add to my winter wardrobe. If you’re planning a winter weekend getaway or just getting ready for the winter season, here are 5 winter wardrobe essentials under $150.

#1 Vests

One of my favorite trends to come back in fall and winter this year is the puffy vest. Puffy vests have come in and out of style as I’ve grown up. But honestly, puffy vests make sense as a winter wardrobe essential. They’re a great layering piece – you can wear thermals, crewnecks, and hoodies under your puffy vest. And they’re great at keeping you warm.
#2 Fair Isle Sweaters

Fair isle sweaters are a classic winter wardrobe staple. You can find festive holiday fair isle sweaters, or you can find classic winter printed sweaters. This specific sweater is from J.Crew and it’s cashmere and so comfortable!

#3 Waterproof Boots

If you live in the PNW or Greater Seattle Area, waterproof boots are a must in your wardrobe. You can find more fashion forward waterproof boots and traditional waterproof boots (like rainboots). I recently picked up my Timberland waterproof boots from Nordstrom Rack. Their lined on the inside so they keep my feet nice and warm!
#4 Beanies

Beanies are an inexpensive winter wardrobe essential. You can find them everywhere. You can find adorable ones at Urban Outfitters, American Eagle Outfitters, and more. You can also find sporty, outdoorsy beanies at places like Columbia, R.E.I., or Eddie Bauer.
#5 Parkas & Quilted Coats

One wardrobe staple I’ve been loving is my quilted puffer coat from Boden this season. This quilted coat is water resistant. It’s great for cold days (not rainy days since it doesn’t have a hood). I wore this around our stop in Index, WA and it was perfect for taking photos in the small town!
