Are you heading to Amsterdam for the first time? Here are the 10 most Instagrammable spots in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam has been on my travel bucket list for the last few years. I was so excited to finally visit this beautiful city this spring. If you’re looking for the best photo spots in Amsterdam or looking to snap an Instagram-worthy photo during your visit, this blog post is for you!
But before we dive into photo locations, where is Amsterdam?
Amsterdam is the capital city of the Netherlands. The Netherlands borders Belgium and Germany. If you want to get to Amsterdam from France, you can get to Amsterdam from Paris on a 3-3 ½ hour train ride.
Amsterdam was founded in the 13th century as a fishing village. The city has a rich history and is known for its iconic canals.
If you’re planning a trip to the Netherlands and are looking for Instagram worthy spots in Amsterdam, here are the 10 most Instagrammable spots in Amsterdam:
#1 Damrak Waterfront
Address: Damrak 21, 1012 LG Amsterdam

Damrak is one of the main tourist attractions in the city. The Damrak Waterfront is known for the tall and narrow homes that were built in the 17th century. Since the homes have slowly sunk and tilted over time, they are also known as a the “Dancing Houses of Damrak.”
#2 Moco Museum
Address: Honthorststraat 20, 1071 DE Amsterdam

If you’re looking to check out modern and contemporary art and take a cool photo or video, I recommend checking out the Moco Museum. You can check out the original artwork from Banksy and THE KID. At the basement of the Moco Museum is the Digital Immersive Art exhibition by Studio Irma x Moco. The diamond room was so cool to step into!
#3 Bloemgracht (and lots of other beautiful canals)

#4 Zevenlandenhuizen (Houses of Seven Countries)
Address: Roemer Visscherstraat 32II, 1054 EZ Amsterdam

Inspired by seven European countries, Tjeerd Kuipers designed Zevenlandenhuizen at the end of the 19th century. If you look at the row of houses, each house was designed with different influences of the different countries. Spain, Russia, France, as well as Germany are represented in these houses.
#5 Rijksmuseum Garden
Address: Museumstraat 1, 1071 XX Amsterdam

If you’re looking for things to do in Amsterdam for your first time, I recommend wandering around the Rijksmuseum. Then after you’re done exploring 800 years of Dutch history, I recommend stopping by the garden to snap a few photos with the giant chess set. This section of the garden is behind the museum.

#6 Rijksmuseum Research Library
Address: Museumstraat 1, 1071 XX Amsterdam

As you wander through the Rijksmuseum, you’ll most likely see the Rijksmuseum Research Library. This library is one of the main art libraries in the world.
#7 City Canal Cruise by Blue Boat
Address: Stadhouderskade 501, 1071 ZD Amsterdam

One of my favorite ways we explored Amsterdam is by boat. We reserved the 75 minutes tour and learned more about Amsterdam’s history. We also snapped some unique photos along the way!
If you signed up for the Iamsterdam city card, your city pass comes with a book tour.
#8 Keukenhof (outside of Amsterdam)
Address: Stationsweg 166A 2161 AM Lisse

If you’re heading to Amsterdam in April, I highly recommend heading out to Lisse by bus to check out all the beautiful tulips in Keukenhof. Originally opened in 1950, Keukenhof is the largest flower show in Europe.
There are direct buses from Amsterdam to Keukenhof. I highly recommend purchasing a Keukenhof combination ticket if you’re staying in Amsterdam and want to take the day trip out to Keukenhof. We hopped on the Keukenhof Express Bus (Bus 852) and it took us straight to Keukenhof.
#9 Rainbowls Amsterdam
Address: Frans Halsstraat 40, 1072 BS Amsterdam, Netherlands

If you’re looking for something fresh and refreshing, I recommend grabbing a smoothie bowl at Rainbowls Amsterdam. Their smoothie bowls are both beautiful and healthy.
#10 Bloemenmarkt
Address: Singel, 1012 DH Amsterdam, Netherlands

If you’re in Amsterdam for the first time, I recommend walking through the flower market.
