Are you heading to Seattle this fall season? Here are a few Seattle fall outfit ideas you can pack.
Suppose you’re looking to experience fall, visiting Seattle at the end of September. In that case, October or early November is a great idea. The weather cools down at the end of September. In October, the pumpkin patches open, and the leaves change. By early November, it’s fall in full blast.
If you’re looking for what to pack to Seattle this fall, here are the key essential wardrobe items you need to bring on your trip:
1. Waterproof boots
If you don’t have rainboots, don’t fret. There are other waterproof boots in the market that are both fashionable and functional. My favorite waterproof boots are from Blondo. However, you can find excellent waterproof boots listed above from Nordstrom.
Whether you love combat boots, platform boots, or tall boots, boots are great to take with you to Seattle. I’d recommend packing at least one pair of boots if you’re coming to Seattle this fall.
3. Water resistant or waterproof jacket
The rain starts to come back in early fall, so I’d recommend packing a rain jacket if you’re heading to Seattle this fall. Suppose you have a North Face, Columbia, or Eddie Bauer waterproof or water-resistant jacket. In that case, you should be good to go.
I always end up layering a waterproof jacket over my outfits.
Seattle is a casual city, so sneakers are a must. Plus, Downtown Seattle is hilly. You’ll want to wear comfortable walking shoes as you trek across the city. I always recommend packing sneakers for every weekend or week-long trip.
Seattle is the epitome of sweater weather. Whether you love crewnecks, cardigans, or cashmere sweaters, you’ll thank yourself for packing a few sweaters in your suitcase. Right now, I love all the sweaters from Madewell.
Another wardrobe staple in Seattle is jeans. While you’ll see people in trousers, pants, or leggings, jeans are essential to a Seattle wardrobe. Personally, I’ve been loving slouchy, loose-fitting jeans. If you aren’t sure how to style them, style them with Chelsea or combat boots or your favorite sneakers. I’ve linked some cute jeans from Nordstrom Rack above!
7. Puffy jackets
If you aren’t used to the cooler temperatures in Seattle (high 40s-low 60s), I recommend packing a puffy jacket. Puffy jackets are fun way to add some texture to your wardrobe and some color too. One place I was surprised to find great puffy jackets was J.Crew.
Here are 6 Seattle Fall Outfit Ideas:
Seattle Outfit #1: Coatigan and Hat
As a petite woman, I still love wearing long coats and cardigans. I picked up this coatigan (coat + cardigan) from Anthropologie a few seasons ago, and I still love it. If you aren’t sure how to style a coatigan for Seattle, I recommend using the coatigan as the statement piece. I’d style it with more neutral pieces – a pair of tan waterproof shoes, a white sweater, and blue jeans.
Seattle Outfit #2: Puffy Jacket Look
Pull out that puffy jacket if you’re looking to stay warm on a non-rainy day in Seattle! I wore this puffy pink jacket around Downtown Seattle, and it was perfect for the city!
Seattle Outfit #3: Sweater Vest Look
One way to dress warmly in Seattle is to embrace layers. I’d recommend layering your favorite sweater vest with a button-down white long-sleeve shirt.
Seattle Outfit #4: Flannel and Platform Boots Combo
If you’re looking to keep things casual, I recommend styling your favorite flannel with pair of platform boots. Suede boots are fine to wear in Seattle as long as it isn’t raining.
Seattle Outfit #5: Graphic Tee and Combat Boots
If you’re looking to visit a local pumpkin patch while in Seattle this fall, I recommend wearing combat boots and a graphic tee. You can always layer a graphic tee with a waterproof coat or jacket.
Seattle Outfit #6: Turtleneck Sweater & White Wide Leg Pants
I love wearing turtlenecks during fall and winter in Seattle. Turtleneck sweaters are both comfortable and fashion forward.
