Spring is all about redefining our favorite staple pieces: the Jean Vest, the Black Bootie, and the Spring Dress. These three elements are inspiring me to stay true to my casual chic style, while bringing together everyday, traditional pieces that you wouldn’t normally think of completing a spring look with.

The Jean Vest is timeless casual. Denim is the past, the present, and it will be the future. It’s the perfect piece to bring a balance of casual to the more dressier pieces in your look. From the light studded details, to the faded blue wash, I’m loving my jean vest.

The Spring Dress: Spring dresses are so fun to shop for, wear, and diversify your closet with. This dress is especially unique in my closet as its the only peter-pan collared dress in my wardrobe. It’s a simple black and white printed dress with a cinched waist. I can dress it up for a nice Sunday Family lunch after church, or dress it down with a jean vest to go to class in.

The Black Patent Bootie is a must have for spring. Spring booties is an emerging trend I’ve been seeing through Chictopia, Lookbook, and other bloggers sites. Normally, you’d pair your spring dresses with sandals and cute flats. But to challenge the norm, pair your dress with a black patent bootie. I’ve found that these black patent booties bring a little bit of an edge to my typical casual campus looks. The heel is just right to be comfortable in and they add some chicness with the slightly pointed toe feature too!

I finished the look with an oversized H&M tote and minimal accessories – with my gold seiko watch.

Some spring sun calls for bare legs and slouchy cream sweaters.

I absolutely adore spring time in Seattle. The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and every Seattlite (I’m serious) is outside and enjoying the beautiful weather. I hate to admit it, but I am one of those people who grabs a pair of shorts when the temperature breaks 60 degrees.

60 degrees may seem cooler or just right (depending where you’re coming from!), but in this look, 60 degrees is just right because I’ve paired my high waisted jean shorts with a slouchy cream sweater. Shorts and sweaters definitely go hand in hand in many of my spring casual looks. Wearing shorts is a celebration of spring, while wearing it with a sweater is insuring you get to enjoy the day just in case the wind picks up or the weather turns sour. I finished the look with an army green jacket (which I’ve been pairing with everything lately!) and nude flats with subtle studded details.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed the post and have been enjoying the spring sun :)!
