Mother’s Day is on Sunday May 9th. Maybe you’ve bought your Mother’s Day card or planned a Mother’s Day brunch. Or maybe you feel like Mother’s Day snuck up on you and you haven’t figured out plans for Mother’s Day yet. If you’re still looking for fun, unique Mother’s Day activities in the Greater Seattle/Tacoma area, this blog post is for you.

Activity #1: Visit Knutson Farms in Sumner, WA

Address: 16406 78th St E, Sumner, WA 98390

Knutson Farms is celebrating Morning with Mom: A Mother’s Day Event on Friday May 7th at 9:30 am. Knutson Farms is awesome for families. On this special event, Knutson Farms is offering a mini photo shoot with their staff photographer, a custom Mother’s Day bouquet, as well as admission to the Spring Bloom event.

The Spring Bloom at Knutson Farms is also going on until Sunday May 9th. The farm is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from April 2nd to May 9th. The farm is open from 9am-5pm. There are tulips, a barn to see the farm animals, food trucks, as well as other fun activities for kids. I took my mom a few weekends ago and she loved it! I recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time online.

Activity #2: Book a date night with your mom with Drinks on the Deck at the Space Needle

Address: 400 Broad St, Seattle, WA 98109

For a special wine and light bites night with incredible views of Seattle, I recommend Drinks on the Deck at the Space Needle. You can book a wine flight and bites for two on your own private open-air covered lookout on the Space Needle’s outdoor deck. You can book either an afternoon seating or a sunset experience. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time online.

Since my dad’s birthday and Mother’s Day are on the same week, I actually booked my parents this date night experience. They loved the city views!

If you’re considering this Mother’s Day activity, I would recommend checking the weather and making sure you’re dressed for Pacific Northwest conditions. It can get chilly up on the Space Needle.

Activity #3: Take a Day Trip to Bainbridge Island

If you’re looking to escape the city, consider taking a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island for a fun day trip. The downtown area right off the ferry terminal has adorable shops, restaurants, and local coffee shops. For breakfast and coffee, I would recommend checking out Pegasus Coffee or Blackbird Bakery. Both coffee shops have outdoor seating. For lunch or dinner, I would recommend checking out Burgerhaus or Ba Sa. Ba Sa gets very busy so I would recommend making reservations ahead of time.

If you’re looking to take photos around Bainbridge Island, I recommend checking out Bainbridge Island’s Most Instagrammable Places.

Activity #4: Go Winetasting in Woodinville

If you’re mom loves wine, take her out winetasing in Woodinville. Chateau Lill offers both 90-minute outdoor tastings and indoor tastings. Their tastings include a flight of 5 wines and a shared charcuterie board for $30 a person.

If the entire family wants to go, they require parties over 6 people to call ahead. Parties under 6 people can reserve their time online. Right now, on their website, they have both indoor and outdoor tastings available on Sunday May 9th. I recommend booking your Chateau Lill Wine Tasting online.

There are tons of other wineries to visit in the area. I would recommend checking out what other tasting rooms are doing in Woodinville.

Activity #5: Pick up a Flower Bouquet Cookie Box from Sweet Themes Bakery in Kent

Address: 317 W Meeker St Suite A Kent WA 98032

If you’re looking for a fun, at home Mother’s Day activity, I recommend ordering a Mother’s Day cookie box to-go from Sweet Themes Bakery. You can pick up 10 large flower cookies, 4 small leaf cookies, and 1 extra-large canning vase to decorate at home. The cookie decorating kit also comes with springles and 4 different colors of butter cream icing.

You must place your order 48 hours in advance. The bakery offers both in-store and curbside pick-up from Sunday-Monday 11am-1pm and Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm.

Activity #6: Mother’s Day Brunch at Snoqualmie

Address: Salish Lodge & Spa 6501 Railroad Ave, Snoqualmie, WA 98065

If you’re looking to book a Mother’s Day brunch and then enjoy the Snoqualmie Falls afterwards, I recommend checking out the Salish’s Lodge’s Mother’s Day Brunch. The Lodge is offering a four-course Mother’s Day Brunch. To book reservations, call 1-800-2-SALISH. Tickets are $95 per adult and $35 per child 6-12 years old. Mother’s day brunch is a classic Mother’s day activity.
