Are you looking for creative book photography ideas? Here are 7 ways you can pose with books for your next photo shoot!

The Stay at Home Order has pushed me to find new ways to be creative indoors. I’ve posed with a magnifying glass, coloring book, magazines, and now I’m adding books to the list! Since June is Pride Month, I was inspired to wrap some of my books up to create a rainbow. I bought tissue paper (that would normally be used for presents) for $4.99 and spent about 45 minutes wrapping books.
This is one of my favorite indoor photo shoot ideas I’ve done so far!
Here are 7 Creative Book Photography Ideas You Can Try:
1.Stack a few books on your head
An easy pose to do with a stack of books to place a few books on your head. I kept my hand up on the books because I tried to balance them on my head… but I couldn’t do it. The photos still turned out so cute!

2. Cover your face with a book
I do the “cover your face” pose over and over again. I’ve recreated this pose with flowers and also have recreated it with books. You can still smile towards the camera or you can make this pose fiercer.

3. Offer a book up to your readers
Another easy pose with books is to offer the book up towards the camera. Extending the book closer to the lens makes the book look bigger – this straight forward pose is an easy way to play with the proportions of the books.

4. Rest your arms on a stack of books
For a closer self-portrait, I recommend stacking the books up vertically and resting your arms on top of them.

5. Sit in the middle of a row of books
Another creative book photography idea is to sit in the middle of the books. It’s an easy way to center yourself in the frame. I decided to add a plant on one end of the books for an extra pop of color.

6. Place the stack of the books in the middle of your legs
To add some variety with this pose, you can keep both legs extended out or you can bend one leg in.

7. Lean on the stack of books
I decided to lean on the stack of books and also open a book up as a prop for this pose.

There you have it friends! A few creative book photography ideas you can try your next indoor photo shoot.
