Are you planning a photo shoot in Seattle this fall or winter season? Are you prepared to shoot indoors if it’s raining?
With an average of 150 days of rain per year, Seattle is known for being a rainy city (even though Miami and several other US cities get more rain). But growing up in the Northwest, the rain never really stopped me from running outdoors, walking my dog, and even taking photos for my blog. As a fashion/lifestyle blogger, I shoot for my blog year round whether it’s rain or shine.
I’ve learned to adapt to shooting indoors when we move in the later part of fall and into the winter seasons. With the Yelp, Google, and Instagram, I’ve hunted and found for indoor places around the city with decent lighting. So today I wanted to share

Indoor Places in Seattle #8: Shugs Soda Fountain and Ice Cream in Downtown Seattle
If you’re in downtown Seattle and need a dessert spot for a photo shoot, Shug’s Soda Fountain and Ice Cream is a great spot! I’ll warn you in advance thought that this place gets busy and the staff can get grumpy if you’re in the way taking photos. Some of the staff were friendly but we had a staff member tell that we should have called ahead if we wanted to take photos inside.
My recommendation would be to call ahead like the staff said or pick a time that isn’t busy to take photos. You can scope out Shugs Soda Fountain in my previous blog post: 4 Lessons I learned Recognizing and Asking for My Value.
